The Nicaragua El Limoncillo Javanica coffee is grown at the Mierisch family's Finca El Limoncillo in the Matagalpa region of Nicaragua, at elevations between 850 and 1,100 meters above sea level. The Javanica varietal, a hybrid of Caturra and Timor, was introduced in the early 2000s. Known for its balanced and complex profile, this coffee features chocolate flavours with a hint of citrus, alongside subtle fruity undertones. It is processed using the washed method to maintain a clean cup. The coffee gained recognition by securing 4th place in the 2017 Cup of Excellence, showcasing its high quality and exceptional taste.
