The Mamuto farm is a pioneer in its quality driven dedication to the SL28 variety, prioritising its unique sweet flavour. This particular coffee is derived from the “Peaberry” lot. Where occasionally, coffee trees produce single beans inside the cherry, resulting in small round shaped beans called peaberries. Kenyan coffee is the sweetest coffee there is, and Mamuto's SL-28 variety is no exception. It has sweet acidity and gorgeous fruit flavours.
When Mamuto is roasted and brewed correctly, it has a velvety body which coats your mouth. We suggest drinking our Mamuto black to fully enjoy the complex flavours. No milk or sugar, just natural sweetness.
The Mamuto farm has put the region of Kirinyaga on the map! Raising awareness for small coffee farmers and bringing seekers of exceptional coffee to the area.
Kenya has developed the strictest processing and milling standards in the world. Beans are sorted in very narrow ranges of size in order to maintain even roasting, with Grade AA comprising the two largest sizes and AB being the next two sizes. Mamuto is machine sorted and then hand sorted to remove any remaining blemishes.
