The Kieni washing station is located in the region of Nyeri, nestled amongst steep slopes and tea plantations and of course coffee farms. The landscape of this area is bursting with life, abundant with differing ecosystems and nature. Timely and selective hand picking is carried out at the Kieni washing station. Cherry’s are delivered the same day they are picked, where they are immediately sorted into specific categories. Red ripe cherries are separated from underipes, overipes and foreign matter. This coffee undergoes a washed process, utilising clean river water followed by sun drying after fermentation. It is then delivered to the dry mill for secondary processing. Kieni Pb has a unique acidity and intense fruity aroma.
